Artist Information

Carol Allegood

Carol Allegood has been a featured watercolor artist at many local galleries including Gallery 4463, where you can currently view several of her paintings. After many years as an elementary school teacher, Carol began painting in 1996 when she enrolled in her first watercolor class.

Speaking of her early experiences with watercolors, she recalls:

I remember being told watercolor artistry is not achieved with just talent; it is achieved through years of dedicated study and application. John Pike once said, Watercolor has an action all of it's own; it moves, it crawls and even fights back. It is an on going challenge in my life to discover what makes watercolor work!
My watercolor art is an expression to the way that I record my experiences and the world around me. Nature is one source of artistic inspiration, but I also love painting pictures depicting the past; a bit of nostalgia.
